Music & Audio Editing
As a musician and scholar, my studies have been focused in the era of classical music. In performance as a flutist, I have acquired bronze, silver, and gold medals throughout my career while competing with ensembles in my early years as a performer. Since, I have delved into the world of sampling, fusion, and cover music art, focusing my graduate thesis on sampling from classical music to enhance more modern pop music.

This page in particular, displays three projects that were created during my studies as an honors music student at the University of Guelph. These projects were created in different years of study and outline live audio recording as well as audio editing skills I have acquired during my studies.
Taylor Swift's "Clean" (Cover)
Completed within the first semester of my fourth year of study. Within this project, we were asked to create a musical track using recording equipment, then add it to audio editing software (Ableton Live Pro). Once added to editing software, we were to effectively even out levels and characteristics of the sound to demonstrate effective audio recording, editing, and mixing. Given artistic freedom on this project, I completed a 5 track cover of Swift's "Clean." This project contains a live guitar track, a live piano track, and three live vocal tracks, (melody, and mid range harmony by Abbie Elsie, and low harmony by myself), each balanced to complement each other in melodic harmony.
Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata (Cover)
Completed within the third semester of my fourth year of study. Within this project, we were asked to demonstrate effective recording of a piano, utilizing at least five different microphone placements. In this I had utilized a total of six microphones directed at the piano from different angles and distances from the piano in order to gather a full and clear sound. Two microphones were places above the pianist's hands directed at the hammers, a microphone underneath the body of the piano, a microphone raised a foot above the strings angles inward towards interior of the piano, and two on either side of the pianist roughly two feet behind angles downward towards the pianist at a 45 degree angle. This allowed for a recording from every side of the piano capturing different qualities of sound. Once added to an audio editing software I was able to balance and edit the tracks accordingly to attempt to create a full sounding clean piano track.
Piano Recording 3
